FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A lot of Fresno State students settled into their new residence halls Sunday night.

The university has a projected enrollment of more than 23,000 students, and about 1,100 of those started moving into their rooms on campus this weekend.

Action News spotted several young Bulldogs getting help from their family and friends, including freshman Shiyra Walker from Moreno Valley. Her relatives even hauled a refrigerator up three flights of stairs.

"I think they're overdoing it, but I appreciate it so much," said Walker.

"I'm proud of her. She did a good job. She deserves to be here," said Walker's grandmother, Shirley Walker.

Students also took part in some welcome events on Sunday, including games on the Atrium lawn.

Classes will start on Thursday.
