CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- On Tuesday, Clovis Community College celebrated Native American Heritage Day with a celebration on campus.

Part of Tuesday's event included entertainment provided by drummers who provided beats for native dancers who came in their traditional attire. Visitors were also treated to demonstrations by a basket weaver from the Sierra Mono Museum, as well as a presentation by a Native American historian who used storytelling to share his experiences.

Students who attended say they were thankful for the event. "I was eager to come to this event because I wanted to learn more about my Native American roots, and I'm just really happy they dedicated time to Native American culture," said Amber Romero, sophomore.

Also at the event resources were available from the Fresno American Indian Health Project.
