Reading and Beyond summer programs kick off in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Dozens of kids will spend the summer strengthening their reading skills. Reading and Beyond's annual summer programs kicked off on Monday at several Fresno locations.

The classes give kids the chance to improve their reading and confidence before starting the next school year. Nearly 500 students participate in the Reading and Beyond summer programs.

The six-week course is open to kids entering kindergarten through 6th grade, and organizers say there is still space available for parents who want to apply on a first-come, first-served basis.
