FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Dozens of families were moved to tears today as they were given a dose of reality.

The sold out "Reality Tour" took place at Edison High School, where families were given a walk through the life and death of a child on drugs.

The Nationwide Drug Prevention Program includes an arrest and prison experience as well as a dramatic emergency room overdose scene followed by a funeral scene.

Organizers say this isn't meant to scare people, but it is an eye-opening experience for those who attend.

"What we want is for parents to have the opportunity to communicate after today's event and actually discuss how they can prevent drug use in their own home," said Daisy Lopez, Project Director.

After the tour Fresno Police Captain Mike Reid presented ways to prevent drug use in our community.
