UC Merced welcomes thousands on campus move-in day

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It was move-in day for thousands of UC Merced students Saturday.

Roughly 2,200 students moved into the residence halls on the UC Merced campus this weekend. Chancellor Dorthy Leland and mascot Rufus Bobcat took part in the day's events.

The campus is expecting its largest freshman class of 2,300 undergraduate students with a total enrollment of nearly 8,000.

The first day of class is Wednesday.
