FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Visalia Unified School District has agreed to pay $5 million to settle a lawsuit with the families of seven children who claim they were molested by a school janitor.

Antonio Cordova was accused of luring children into a supply room at Oak Grove Elementary School between 2008 and 2013.

The lawsuit filed in Tulare County Superior Court more than a year ago alleges that school employees and the principal failed to supervise Cordova and report claims of abuse.

The former custodian was arrested in February 2013, and he remains in jail awaiting trial.
