In this Big Video, we get a look at a spectacular jump that's landed one skier in the record books.

To pull off the stunt the seven-time X-Games medalist traveled to the top of a massive 24 story ski jump. When he made his picture-perfect landing Sammy Carlson became the first skier to hit a ski-flying long jump with freestyle intent.

Carlson not only spun himself from the lip of the jump but began several descents into the jump switch backwards.

Copper Peak is the largest ski jump in the western hemisphere and is located in Michigan along the shores of Lake Superior.

The ramp itself has a 364-foot vertical drop that has jumps with distance records stretching over 500 feet.
