'Dancing With The Stars' week 3 dance-by-dance recap
'Dancing With The Stars' sees two couples dance to perfection on 'movie night,' while one couple goes home.

LOS ANGELES -- From "Rocky" to "Ghost" to "Austin Powers," the 11 remaining couples on "Dancing With The Stars" brought us into the multiplex, bought us a giant tub of popcorn, and gave us two hours of solid entertainment on Monday.

There are definitely some stars who are better technical dancers than others, but everyone gets a "10" in the performance department. Add guest judge Kevin Hart with his humor and enthusiasm, and the show jumped up even another notch this week. And not one but two perfect scores! Sadly, someone is sent home.

SPOILER ALERT!

Fighting champ Randy Couture and partner Karina Smirnoff are not moving on to round four of "Dancing With The Stars."

Here's a recap of the dances, from highest score to lowest:

BETHANY MOTA- 40 out of 40

Bethany Mota and Derek Hough were one of two couples to tie for top score. Bethany has her work cut out for her this week. Derek is teaching her a jazz routine to the iconic "Singing in the Rain." And since Gene Kelly is one of his idols, Derek is putting extra pressure on himself (and by default, Beth) for this dance. Gene Kelly's widow comes by the studio and gives a few words of encouragement. The dance has umbrellas, and in the end, real rain. Oh, and perfection. Carrie Ann Inaba said "mission impossible? Mission complete!"

JANEL PARRISH- 40 out of 40

Perfect score No. 2 for the night saw Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy doing a jazz routine to "I Want to Be an American" from "West Side Story." They were both completely excited because not only do they love the musical, but they can both relate to the immigrant storyline. Something happened with the lawyers and rights issues, but in the end, Val did what they allowed him to do and the dance was delightful. Julianne told Janel she saw doors opening up for her career after this routine. Bruno called it her star-making turn, and Kevin simply bowed down to them.

TOMMY CHONG- 34 out of 40

Tommy Chong channeled Al Pacino from "Scent of a Woman" for the Argentine Tango he performed with Peta Murgatroyd. He seemed to be teaching her a few things along the way. Their chemistry is just adorable. Peta revealed afterwards that he had not gotten the routine down correctly EVER in rehearsal, but Tommy nailed it on the big show. Bruno said the story they were trying to tell through the dance could not have been better, while Kevin said some people fold under pressure (Janel had just received her perfect score right before Tommy danced) but applauded Tommy for staying poised. Julianne reminded us that Peta can be fierce, and anyone who can lead her deserves praise!

SADIE ROBERTSON- 32 out of 40

Apparently Sadie Robertson was a little sad last week after being put "in jeopardy," though it seems she didn't really know what that meant. Mark Ballas appeased her fears and they jumped into learning the Viennese Waltz. Their song is from Disney's "Up," and Mark cleverly utilized some balloons to show her how to stay in hold. Kevin called the dance seamless and said it made him want to learn how to do it. Julianne praised Mark's choreography, and Bruno was "utterly charmed."

JONATHAN BENNETT- 32 out of 40

While Sadie was the sad celebrity after week two, Allison Holker was the pro dancer who was down in the dumps. She had a heart to heart with Mark Ballas about balancing her own unique style with what the judges expect. Mark encouraged her to be true to herself and Jonathan Bennett said he doesn't want her to lose her "Alli-ness." She figured it out and put together a very clever Tango. Kevin loved the fact that the song wasn't a traditional Tango tune and said he found himself wrapped up in their moment. Carrie Ann told Allison the judges aren't there to stifle, but to encourage.

ALFONSO RIBEIRO- 32 out of 40

Alfonso Ribeiro channels his inner Mike Myers and "Austin Powers in Goldmember." He does a very cute but all too quick routine at the beginning, and then lets us know we will NOT be seeing the "typical" Austin Powers 60s swing. He's been assigned the quickstep, his first ballroom style dance. And Alfonso wants to remain true to the form. Until he's in the thick of rehearsal, he doesn't realize how fast moving this dance can be. Witney Carson very delicately tells him that she "is literally carrying his fat ass around." Ouch. The performance starts with an adorable mini-me, and they go on to have a fun routine. Bruno called himself "Dr. Evil" and said he was very pleased. Carrie Ann called it smooth, and Kevin Hart said he "murdered" the dance.

LEA THOMPSON- 31 out of 40

Loraine McFly really does get to be Loraine McFly this week! They recreate the prom from "Back to the Future," and of course, arrive in a DeLorean. Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev Cha Cha to Huey Lewis and the News power anthem "Power of Love." Kevin was thrilled to see them smile throughout the entire dance and show us they really had a good time, and Julianne and Bruno praised Lea's versatility. Carrie Ann was the wet blanket, saying it was not Lea's best dance and she thought she looked "uncertain."

BETSEY JOHNSON- 29 out of 40

Betsey Johnson hung on to a bit of her makeover this week and stayed classy for her contemporary dance. Their song is from "Ghost" and the infamous "Unchained Melody." Betsey says with this dance she will either fly or fall. She flew -- and gets to bring out the splits again! Kevin told her she looked like a 21-year-old dancer, and said he's got the hots for her. Bruno said no one can bend it like Betsey!

ANTONIO SABATO JR- 29 out of 40

Antonio Sabato Jr. brought a Walkman (remember those?) into the studio because his song was recently re-released on the "Guardians of the Galaxy" soundtrack and the cassette tape was a big part of the story. Cheryl Burke had never seen one before! They did a flowy Foxtrot to "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and Antonio hit his goal of turning on the fun factor. Bruno called him dashing and debonair. (The fans in the audience screamed for him, to which Tom Bergeron said "Please no jumpers!") Carrie Ann reminded him to breathe and thought he needs to be more natural (now the audience is booing). Kevin joined in on the "boos" and told Antonio he was "killing" in his tuxedo.

MICHAEL WALTRIP- 28 out of 40

Michael Waltrip reminds viewers of a Labrador retriever that really, really wants to please and just has nothing but love to give. He and Emma Slater have the Waltz this week, which is a dance that seems to suit him. He gives his all at rehearsals, and the judges can tell. Julianne offered him double high fives and called it his best dance ever. Carrie Ann was mesmerized by the story but reminded him he has a lot to work on. Kevin applauded him for all the hard work.

RANDY COUTURE- 26 out of 40

Randy Couture had to dance first for the second week in a row. What's up with that? Karina Smirnoff works up a Paso Doble to the song "Eye of the Tiger" from "Rocky." Randy says that movie parallels his own story: The underdog, who's a bit older, going for his dream. Julianne and Bruno think his timing was just a bit off, Carrie Ann wants him to find some finesse, and Kevin said he was scared of Randy and wouldn't give him a bad score!
