Former soccer star and pop culture icon David Beckham has been crowned the 30th ever Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine.

The reveal was made on Tuesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live. Audience members asked questions like "Has Taylor Swift ever written a song about you?" and "Have you ever had a man bun?" to help them figure out who he was.

The 40-year-old has been a 'sex symbol' for 20 years, according to the magazine, ever since rising to fame as a soccer player in England in the late '90s. He maintained his celebrity status off the pitch through his numerous endorsements and his marriage to fashion designer Victoria Beckham, known for being Posh Spice in the Spice Girls.

When she heard of her husband's first Sexiest Man Alive crown, Victoria celebrated along with him, according to Beckham.

"Victoria's reaction to my being the sexiest man alive, she was pretty pleased. I would hope she thinks that anyway," Beckham told People.

Beckham said that the oldest of his four kids did not believe the news at first. Now Dad likes to hold the title over his family, especially his oldest.

"My son's 16 years old. His interest has gone into girls a little bit," he said, "so it's nice for me to actually turn around to him sometimes and say, 'By the way, apparently, your dad's the sexiest man alive, apparently.'"

The 30th anniversary Sexiest Man Alive issue of People Magazine hits newsstands Friday.
