Emmy Awards: Governors Ball sneak peek
ABC got a sneak peek at the after party for the Emmy Awards: the Governors Ball.

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES -- The 68th Emmy Awards will be a star-studded show full of excitement on Sunday, Sept. 18. But the after party is known to be just as exciting.

ABC got a special sneak peek at the preparations for the Governors Ball.

This year's theme will be "nature's elegance," as floral expert Kevin Lee used thousands of flowers to bring the theme to life.

"It's going to be just like you walked into the enchanted garden," Lee described. "That's the feeling they're going to have."

Governors Ball producer Cheryl Cecchetto helped to bring the display to life.

"We're producing this incredible art installation dripping with wisteria and garland and ivy. They're magnificent," Cecchetto explained. "It's like a fortress of hedging and cypress and three-dimensional artwork."

The Emmy's signature cocktail this year is called the "moonlighter," which will also get a twist of nature, besides the vodka and other spirits in it.

"I wanted to have this very crisp, clean drink with kind of bright bursts of green and a little kiss of lavender to it," mixologist Charles Joly of World Class Spirits outlined.

The 4,000 guests in attendance will be treated to wine from Sterling Vineyards, sparkling wine from Ferrari, make-up from L'Oreal Paris, and a custom box of chocolates.

There's also a big meal for the guests featuring turf and turf.

"We have a time-roasted filet," Executive Chef Greg Wiele with Patina Restaurant said. "We're also serving that with a slow-braised short rib."

The meal will include an heirloom beet salad with veggies grown at California's Babe Farms specifically for the Governors Ball.

"All of this produce was grown specifically for Patina and specifically for these Emmy events so we're very proud of this whole farm-to-table feel," Wiele detailed.

And of course, you can't forget dessert.

"It is all chocolate, coconut mousse, tropical fruit, coconut meringue. Who doesn't like that? I love it," Executive Pastry Chef Frania Mendivil with Patina Restaurant said.

Don't miss the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. ET | 4 p.m. PT LIVE on ABC.
