Actress and designer Kristin Cavallari talked Wednesday about the screen shot she posted to Instagram of her quarterback husband's mayday texts as he watched their two sons alone.

Apparently, while his wife was out of town recently, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was left alone to care for their two kids. And he found it quite... difficult.

On her Instagram account Saturday, Cavallari, 28, posted a text exchange she apparently had with her husband of 1.5 years after he was left on his own to care for their sons - Camden, 2, and Jaxon, 8 months. She was just getting home from the California trip Thursday, and Cutler couldn't wait for the help.

Cutler writes:

"Need u home asap.

All hell has broken loose

Jax is in his crib.

Cam refuses to eat.

I'm about to leave"

Robin Roberts and George Stephanopolous asked Cavallari Wednesday why she posted those texts for the public to see.

"I was dying laughing when I got that text - or those text messages - and it's something that every parent can relate to. So I was just laughing my butt off, and I thought it would be hilarious to post it," Cavallari told GMA Wednesday via Skype.

Cavallari said she was a bit surprised about how much reaction the post got.

"But I think, you know, I think it's really refreshing for people to see that Jay and I are like everybody else. We go through the same stuff," she said, adding people probably assume they're covered by nannies all the time. "We actually split our time between Chicago and Nashville, and right now in Nashville we don't have a nanny at all, so we are doing everything ourselves. And I love it because now he gets to see what I get to go through, and he appreciates me a little more."

"Contrary to what many people think, we don't have a thousand nannies. So with that being said, when I got home from LA 2 days ago this is what I landed to," Cavallari wrote on Instagram. "Pretty hilarious. Ladies, u want your man to appreciate u? Leave them alone with the kids to see what we deal with!"

Cavallari and Cutler were married in the summer of 2013. Cavallari starred in the reality shows "Laguna Beach" from 2004-2005 and "The Hills" from 2009-2010. Cutler has been the quarterback for the Chicago Bears since 2009.
