An 11-year-old girl in England has a solitary Christmas wish, and it's so sweet it's being shared around the world: She wants her mother to be healed of Crohn's disease.

Debby Chalk, 31, has been battling Crohn's disease, which causes chronic inflammation of the digestive tract, since 2006, but in the past two years it has been difficult for her to medicate and keep under control, she told Metro in the United Kingdom.

Chalk's daughter Bobbie-Mae had her mother's struggle in mind when she penned this year's letter to Santa. In fact, it was the only thing she asked for.

"It hurts to watch her suffer, so please make it better," Bobbie-Mae wrote.

Chalk told Metro that when Bobbie-Mae gave her the letter to deliver to Santa, it brought tears to her eyes.

"I welled up and couldn't believe it, makes me so proud to be her mum," she said.

Chalk was so touched she shared the letter on the Crohn's and Colitis UK Facebook page,, where it has received more than 7,500 likes in less than a week.

Other people on the charity's page have offered their messages of praise and support for Bobbie-Mae and her mom.

"So sweet! She must defo be on Santa's nice list," wrote one Facebook user.

"I know all too well how my illness has affected my daughter at times. Really hope her wish comes true," wrote another.
