Blind man sees his wife for first time in over 30 years

Larry Hester, 66, has been blind for over 30 years due to a condition called retinitis pigmentosa. But with the help of the Duke University Eye Center, Hester is getting back his ability to see.

The video above depicts Hester after trying out a new groundbreaking "bionic" eye device. The device works in conjunction with an implant he receive in his left eye in September. When the device is turned on, Hester is able to differentiate dark and light, but Hester won't be able to see with normal vision. However, Hester said in a recent interview that he was able to see enough that he could distinguish where his wife's face was and touch it. See the heartwarming video above.
