FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Hundreds of kids put down their gadgets and got a great workout in North Fresno on Sunday. The Gridiron Foundation hosted its second annual Gridiron Kids at Woodward Park.

Organizers set up about 20 physical activities and obstacle courses for children ages 5 through 12. The free event works to combat childhood obesity, get kids outdoors and instill an active lifestyle in today's tech-centric times.

"The bottom line is kids are dreadfully under-exercised on a regular basis, and it's just the nature of our society in general. We've gotten lazy, we've gotten complacent. We just want to get kids' bodies as well as their minds active and get out here and get with it," said K.C. Trace with the Gridiron Foundation.

Several Fresno State football players were there helping kids through the courses. Each participant also got a free T-shirt.
