Merced County health department confirms first cases of Zika Virus

MERCED COUNTY (KFSN) -- Two Merced County residents have confirmed cases of the Zika Virus. The Merced County Department of Public Health said these are the first confirmed cases of Zika in Merced County.

The two unrelated residents became sick after traveling to countries that have active Zika transmission.

Both residents received medical care after having mild symptoms, and both have fully recovered.
