New resource is now available for recovering addicts in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Former Fresno State Basketball standout, and former NBA player Chris Herren attended Thursday's grand opening of the new outpatient clinic. The Valley Recovery Center is located on Palm and Sierra in Northwest Fresno.

Herren has been clean for more than six years after struggling with heroine addiction. He says its resources like this can make a difference in the recovery process.

"I love the Valley. I love Fresno. I grew up here. This community picked me up when I was down and held me up when I was up. To be back here supporting this, in the recovery community, and to be part of it once again is a blessing," said Herren.
