Highway patrol officers search for hit and run suspects

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Highway patrol officers are looking for three males accused of crashing a car and running from the scene in Northwest Fresno.

Officials say the driver of the car was heading northbound on Maroa Avenue when he lost control, hit a tree and then collided into an AT&T box.

A homeowner in the neighborhood tried to detain the people in the car by firing a shot in the air.

All three people in the car got out and started running away.

The homeowner is not facing charges for firing the weapon.

The suspects in the car are facing property damage and hit and run charges.
