Homemade robots duke it out in Downtown Fresno
Fresno's Ideaworks held its Super Sumo Saturday at their building in Downtown Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Sumo-wrestlers of Fresno rejoice, you have a place to compete but it's not exactly what the traditional form of sumo.

Fresno's Ideaworks held its Super Sumo Saturday at their building in Downtown Fresno.

Homemade robots created by kids and adults competed against each other in a sumo ring.

The non-profit offers machines and space for anyone interested in hobbies ranging from robots to glass blowing.

It's also a place for people to share ideas and improve in their hobby of choice.

"There's not a big huge competitive spirit," Josh Houser with Fresno Ideaworks said. "I don't try to hide any of my ideas from the other people in here because we all want to get better we all want to improve."

Super Sumo Saturdays are open to anyone.

They go from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with no fee.
