Remote control boat races take over Roeding Park

There was plenty of Fourth of July fun at Fresno's Rotary Storyland and Playland on Friday.

Hobby Town Fresno sponsored a remote controlled boat race on Washington Lake inside of Playland. Friday marked the first time for the event. Organizers hope it will catch on in popularity for more fun and boat races next year.

Some of the small remote control boat models can go as fast as 25 miles an hour. And the bigger boats go as fast as 70 miles an hour.
