FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It was a special night for a Fresno family and Central Valley tradition -- Christmas Tree Lane.
Monday night, the Alexander family was featured on "The Great Christmas Light Fight" on ABC30. Up against four other families in the country, the Alexanders came out on top.
The family has been decorating their home for two decades and they say they're happy the rest of country was able to experience the Fresno tradition.
"Everybody is a kid coming down Christmas Tree Lane -- the little ones to the adults. Everybody is just smiles, and oohs and ahhhs. That's why I really do it year after year is because of giving back to the community. And obviously this is just perfect, this is icing on the cake because now we know, and the rest of the nation knows, that we have something special in Fresno," said Dean Alexander.
On top of showcasing Fresno to the rest of the nation, Alexander says he is donating the $50,000 prize straight back into Christmas Tree Lane. They plan to purchase a man lift that will help people decorate their homes.
Christmas Tree Lane is open through Christmas Day.
