Man dies after police say his car crashed into a power pole near Hanford

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is dead after police say he crashed his car into a power pole near Hanford this afternoon.

The accident happened just before 1 p.m. near Denver and Seventh Avenue in Kings County.

Authorities say when officers got to the scene, the 1997 green Honda Civic was engulfed in flames.

Right now the cause of the crash is under investigation and officers are working to identify the driver because of the remote area, CHP is asking anyone who may have information about the crash to call its non-emergency line at 559-441-5400.
