1 dead, 2 injured in Highway 99 crash near Tipton

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- At least one person is dead after a crash near Tipton.

It happened off Highway 99 near Olive Street Saturday afternoon. California Highway Patrol officers say a truck was going too fast around the curved off ramp. The driver lost control and rammed into a Honda Accord carrying two adults and two children on the opposite ramp leading onto the highway.

A man in that car died at the scene and two other passengers had major injuries.

The truck also flipped onto some heavy equipment parked at a tractor dealership. But the driver was not seriously hurt.

The exact cause of the crash is under investigation.
