FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Police are investigating a late night shooting that injured one person.

Officers received a call of a shooting last night off Griffith in Central Fresno. They say the victim jumped into a car, then headed north on Blackstone Avenue where officers spotted him speeding near Bullard.

The officers pulled the car over and found the wounded man in the back seat, but they still don't know how he was shot.

"Right now we are trying to piece exactly what happened. The female was driver uncooperative with officers at this time. The passenger was taken to CRMC hospital -- we're still waiting for an update on his condition," said Lt. Phil Cooley, Fresno Police Department.

Police aren't releasing the name of the shooting victim. They also didn't say if anyone else in the car is facing charges in the investigation.
