10-year-old recovering after nearly drowning in family pool in East Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 10-year-old is recovering after nearly drowning in a family pool. It happened at Fountain and Vahe around 7:30 Tuesday night in East Central Fresno.

Investigators said the child was swimming with others in the pool and there were several adults around. However, the 10-year-old is still learning to swim and accidentally went under.

At this point police do not believe alcohol was involved or foul play.

They tell us that the child is expected to survive.
