Batman surprises south valley kids
An iconic super hero traveled across country Monday to encourage and inspire children.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An iconic superhero traveled across the country Monday to encourage and inspire children.

Batman visited with dozens of kids in Bakersfield after driving up in the Batmobile. The caped crusader spent time getting to know each kid, taking pictures and talking with them.

John Buckland who started the Heroes for Higher Foundation says each trip is all about giving hope to children who may being struggling in their lives. "The experience is good for them," Buckland as Batman said. "But the biggest thing is they will never forget what they learned today and that's tough things make them stronger and that's the most important thing."

Batman is headed to San Bernardino Tuesday. He's teaming up with their police department to spread a message of hope and healing to children and families in the area following the December terrorist attack.
