FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno had a case of Powerball fever and it is over now. Many took a gamble for the $1.5 Billion - the largest lottery jackpot in history and according to lottery officials, a winning ticket was sold in Southern California.

The winning numbers for the $1.5 billion jackpot are: 8, 27, 34, 4, 19 and the Powerball is 10

Two hours before the lucky Powerball numbers dropped, the Chevron near Belmont and Fowler was swamped with people buying hopes and dreams from the lottery machine.

Susan Wright only bought one ticket and she picked her own numbers.

"I never play...just like everybody else, right now we're playing it...just one pick," Wright added.

The odds of winning have changed. The lottery tweaked them to get more people to play and create a bigger jackpot - more white balls were added to the mix and some red balls were taken out, making it easier to win a small prize but at the same time, harder to match al six numbers.

The scheme worked but the chance of winning the jackpot dropped to one in 292 million.

Prince Dabbs who bought tickets said, "when the stakes are as high as it is, why not jump on, get your feet wet and possibly become a winner."

Harry Bradford who also bought tickets added, "when it comes to something like this, it's fun...you need a little fun looking at your ticket just to see if you got any of your numbers."

Back at the Chevron, the frenzy turned into a race against time. There was a long line of people trying get tickets before the machine stopped printing them.

Lori Foster didn't make it, "I got here two minutes too late but I've already got two more tickets so I'm ok."

The final count inside was a 4 thousand tickets sold in one day, which is a record for the gas station.

The Powerball jackpot will reset to $40 Million.
