FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The parking lot of Clovis Hills Community Church was packed Monday for an event called The Compassion Experience.

It gave dozens of Valley residents an opportunity to see what life is like for children living in developing countries like Kenya, Uganda and the Philippines without even leaving the country.

The 2,000 square feet exhibit led visitors inside homes, schools and stores to capture the different stages of each kid's life. "This is a chance for people to come and walk through a real life story of someone who grew up in a developing country," David Smith with the organization said. "They get to see their story from a young age to where they are now."

Organizers say the interactive exhibit is also a chance for people to show compassion by sponsoring a child to help them out of poverty.
