Girl Scout Cookie Expo held at Fresno Fairgrounds
Girls got lessons in science, robotics, and nature -- all with the idea of letting girls know the skills they'll get as scouts, especially when it comes to the cookies.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The girl scouts are gearing up to deliver cookies to the world, but first they want to get more girls to join the scouts.

Hundreds of families went out to the Fresno Fairgrounds for the Girl Scout Cookie Expo. They got lessons in science, robotics, and nature -- all with the idea of letting girls know the skills they'll get as scouts, especially when it comes to the cookies.

"Becoming a team player, marketing skills, financial literacy skills, communication skills, and goal setting and they all learn those things in a cookie sale," said Cathy Ferguson with Girl Scouts of the USA. "So, it's more than a cookie."

And speaking of those cookies, they're just a couple weeks away now. They're scheduled to drop on the first weekend of February.
