FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A local organization focused on feeding the homeless prepared for their monthly donation Sunday.

Volunteers for Fresno's Meals organized donations and put meals together at the Painted Table in the Tower District. The organization has been operating for the last two years and has handed out more than 3,600 meals.

Organizers say the distribution process is unique because volunteers walk around and hand out meals to individuals. Not only feeding people but feeding knowledge as well. "It's creating a different mindset and breaking stigmas of that all homeless individuals are dangerous or they're having mental problems," founder Justin Kamimoto said. "We're finding that their just normal people who had a bad time on their life's journey."

The group hands out meals once a month on the second Sunday of each month.
