Merced police investigate officer-involved shooting

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced police are investigating an officer-involved shooting Saturday.

It happened after a loud party call on Crescent Drive near Solstice Avenue just before 1 a.m.

Authorities say one officer saw a suspect pull out a gun while walking toward another officer who was sitting in his patrol car. The officer told the suspect to drop the gun, but he refused. That's when the officer fired one round, missing the suspect.

No one was injured and the search for the suspect is ongoing.
