Arrest made in Merced officer-involved shooting
Authorities say 18-year-old Kamare Bailey had a gun in his hand as he walked toward an officer sitting in a patrol car.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced police have arrested the suspect in an officer-involved shooting.

Authorities say 18-year-old Kamare Bailey had a gun in his hand as he walked toward an officer sitting in a patrol car on Crescent Drive near Solstice Avenue Friday night.

Another officer yelled at Bailey to drop the gun, and then fired one round when he refused. Bailey was not hit, and investigators say he ran from the scene.

He was caught hiding in a home on 26th Street near Green Street in Merced after a search warrant was served Saturday.

Detectives also recovered two handguns and ammunition.
