Whether you are a Raiders fan from just down the road or a Packers fan living in Seahawks country, no distance is too far for these diehard football fans.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Super Bowl week officially kicked off in the Bay Area on Monday with Super Bowl opening night.

Fans have come near and far to see their favorite teams and players "I'm going to assume you are from Denver," an Action News reporter asked a fan. "I am from Denver, Rocky Colorado Leprechaun.

Whether you are a Raiders fan from just down the road or a Packers fan living in Seahawks country, no distance is too far for these diehard football fans, "I can't wait to see these star players people I've dreamed of seeing in real life," a fan said. "This is an incredible experience biggest stage in the world for a week."

You never know what you are going to see on media day including a football getting interviewed. "What do you like about football?" an Action News reported asked the mascot. "Cheerleaders."

For Valley fans football fans two players with local ties will be on the Panthers LB Ben Jacobs and Broncos TE Virgil Green.

"Didn't think I would ever make it to the NFL," Green said. "Didn't even think I would ever do anything in college, but I did and I'm glad I made that decision to play football."

"I didn't know this was possible," Jacobs said. "Just trying to take this whole moment in. It's awesome, the whole week but we're excited to get back to work on Wednesday and refocus as a team on the reason why we're really here."

Each Super Bowl is never short on headlines, Sunday's game is historic in the fact that's it's Super Bowl 50 and could quite possibly be the final game in Broncos QB Peyton manning and on the other side of the field stands superman Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers who lost just 1 game all year long setting up for a super showdown in Santa Clara.
