FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Plans are in place to build a memorial for a former Fresno City College baseball and football standout.

21-year-old Deondre Howard was shot and killed in front of his northwest Fresno home last August. Now, local business leaders, including the Fresno Grizzlies, are pitching in for the Deondre Day Day Howard Memorial Fund.

Money raised through the fund will go towards building a memorial at Edison High School where he graduated from in 2013.

Anyone interested in donating to the fund should contact Cliff Rold or Matt Johnson at Edison High School: (559)457-2650
