Man dies in overnight Fresno shooting

Family held a vigil for 25-year-old Johnny Ruiz who was killed late Saturday in a southeast Fresno. (KFSN)

A man was killed late Saturday night in a southeast Fresno shooting.

Family identify 25-year-old Johnny Ruiz as one of the two victims shot near Peach and Huntington Avenues. The Fresno Police Department received a call of shots fired just before 11:00 p.m., and shortly after two men with gunshot wounds were dropped off at Community Regional Medical Center. A 23-year-old man was treated and is listed in stable condition while Ruiz died of his injuries.

Police say a white 2000's model Chevy Malibu with a Fresno State sticker in the back window was involved in the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fresno Police Department.

This is the seventh murder in Fresno for 2016.
