Large fire breaks out in Madera County wood yard

FRESNO, Calif. -- Crews are working to contain a fire at a large wood yard in the north valley.

You can see the smoke coming from the property near Road 19 and Avenue 13 in Madera County. Cal Fire officials say a 100 by 200 foot pile of wood chips is burning.

But more piles and stacks of chopped wood are also in danger of catching on fire. More than a dozen firefighters plan to stay at the scene overnight along with four engines and a water tender.

At this point, no structures are threatened.
