Funeral plans set for Tulare County Sheriff's deputy and pilot killed in plane crash
Scott Ballantyne and James Chavez had just assisted in the arrest of a man brandishing a handgun when their plane crashed into the side of a mountain ridge on Wednesday. Anyone who would like to help their families can do so through the Tulare County Deputy Sheriff's Benevolent Association.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Funeral plans are now complete for the Tulare County Sheriff's deputy and pilot killed in a plane crash near Porterville.

The service for pilot James Chavez will take place next Saturday at Glad Tidings Church in Hanford. A funeral for deputy Scott Ballantyne will be held on Monday, Feb. 22 at Visalia First Assembly of God.
