Merced police arrest man for possessing child pornography

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Merced man is in jail on child pornography charges.

Merced police arrested 20-year-old Benny Perez IV at his home on Santa Fe near Mission in Le Grand Friday.

Detectives started the investigation after receiving a tip and were able to track down the Internet address.

They say Perez then admitted to viewing child pornography on his smart phone.
