FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Valentine's day got off to a sweaty start for hundreds of people in northeast Fresno Sunday morning.

They all showed up in their pink and red gear for the Fresno Valentine Run, which took them through Woodward Park. The finishers all received medals along with some fitting swag for their efforts, including a rose and some chocolate.

The runners with the best costumes also took home special awards.

A portion of the proceeds from the run will go to an organization that provides scholarships for valley foster children and the Wilson Heart Center at Valley Children's Hospital.
