VIDEO: Crews battle 'firenado' as part of grass fire

KANSAS CITY, MO -- Tornadoes are frightening and so are fires. But they're even more terrifying when they merge together.

This scene was captured in Kansas City, courtesy of TV station KMBC. where firefighters were battling a large grass fire that burned 1,500 acres Thursday on prison property.

Investigators say a lawn mower sparked the fire.

Twelve fire crews battled the fire. There were no injuries reported and no evacuations ordered.
