Runners kick off inaugural Big Hat Half Marathon in Clovis

The inaugural Big Hat Half Marathon kicked off Sunday. Organizers say the 13.1 mile course was scenic and flat so participants could kick off their boots for a fast finish time. Money raised through this event will benefit the Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Hundreds of runners take part in race through the streets of Old Town Clovis.

The inaugural Big Hat Half Marathon kicked off Sunday. Organizers say the 13.1 mile course was scenic and flat so participants could kick off their boots for a fast finish time.

Money raised through this event will benefit the Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center.

The Big Hat Days Festival is coming up on April 2.
