Merced bus drivers received active-shooter training

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Many north Valley school bus drivers are now better equipped to handle an active-shooter situation thanks to an intensive hands-on lesson.

Nearly 200 bus drivers from the Merced area attended the training at El Capitan High School Saturday. Video from a similar class taught by the Nevada-based company shows what takes place.

The eight-hour training shows drivers how to disarm armed suspects in different scenarios. Some instructors are former police officers who teach law enforcement techniques to a variety of organizations.
