New Look for Bulldogs entering 2016 spring football practice
Fresno State football begins: 2016 spring schedule

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Coming off a disappointing 3-9 season there is a lot of new surrounding the Bulldogs.

"Anytime you get some new looks at things, we are doing a lot thing similarly as far as big picture scheme wise, but when there is a different voice, different energy, it feels different," said head coach Tim DeRuyter.

An overhauled coaching staff includes new defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward and new offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau.

"As fast as humanly possible. Just get them going and get them lined up so they can execute and play fast, so I'm glad they came off the field, feeling like it was fast because that was the whole emphasis was speed and tempo," said Kiesau.

"You can see it as we go through practice. Coach Kiesau calls it organized chaos and that's where we want to be, lot of guys flying around at practice and that's how we want to play in the game," said quarterback Chason Virgil.

Hope springs eternal with positions to be won.

"They are all open with two new coordinators with brand new views of everything, so nobody has established anything you get to earn your spot right now." said DeRuyter.

The annual spring game is Saturday April 2nd and the regular season opens at Nebraska on Saturday September 3rd.
