FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Work has begun on the new Home of Hope that'll be auctioned off this summer. A groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday morning featured city leaders and organizations that'll benefit from ticket sales.

This year's home features a new layout with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, water-wise landscaping, and a pre-paid solar lease. Granville Homes has raised more than three and a half million dollars since they began this project in 2006. "This is part and parcel of Granville Homes-- the health and well-being of this community is important to us. Advance the causes that provide food shelter and to the underprivileged," said Darius Assemi, Granville Homes.

Tickets for the Home of Hope auction cost $100 each. The drawing will take place on July 27th. Their goal is to raise half a million dollars.

Proceeds will benefit 10 local organizations including the Community Food Bank, Poverello House, and Hinds Hospice.
