FRESNO COUNTY. (KFSN) -- Thick white snow coated the grounds in Shaver Lake Sunday.

It's creating a lot of fun for some of the folks and families who came up for a day of fun, but it's creating a lot of business for some of the stores in the area. "When you fall it's like hard, but we had a bunch of fun," visitor Daniel Juarez said.

Juarez, 10, says he savored every second he and his brother got to play together in the wintery mix. "The snow is so rare because sometimes we never ever get snow and sometimes we do," he said.

There were some who had the usual snowball fight, and others who sat alone with the old-fashioned Nikon, snapping a few photos of the million dollar view. "I've been here a couple time but there wasn't much time," April Ramirez of Fresno said. "So, it's cool."

It's also cool for Desmond Tenyenhuys. He spent the day cashing out people who stopped by his store for a quick snack. "It picked up a little bit as opposed to the last couple weekends we've been having without snow," Tenyenhuys said.

And Judy and Tony Fonts drove up for the day say it was a trip worth taking "It was fun though," Judy said. "It was beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, just beautiful."
