Officials say a man was driving drunk when he rammed into a van carrying school employees and took down a power pole.

It happened in the Del Rey area just after 10 p.m. on Tuesday. Investigators say the driver of a black car blew the stop sign and crashed into a van. That van was full of custodians from Sanger Unified.

Three people were rushed to Community Regional Medical Center in Downtown Fresno with minor to moderate injuries.

"It's very rare, in a situation like this, to see the injury level at minor to moderate... in a case of the vehicle being t-boned by another vehicle not stopping the stop sign. We're lucky to see that tonight," said Sgt. Matt Radke, California Highway Patrol.

The collision took out the power for several hundred customers in the Del Rey area. PG&E worked throughout the night to restore the power.
