Firefighters are trying to find out how an apartment complex caught fire in downtown Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. -- Firefighters are trying to find out how an apartment complex caught fire in downtown Fresno.

It happened just before midnight near Roosevelt and Belmont. The fire started on the second floor and spread to the attic. Officials say a woman and a baby were treated for smoke inhalation.

It's unknown if the home had a smoke detector. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
