FRESNO, Calf. (KFSN) -- For every touchdown, big basket and game changing play Fresno State fans are brought to their feet. While the Bulldogs cheer squad can be seen almost every event, there is another group that can rile up the crowd just as loud, meet the Senior Dog Squad.

"We started just signing up and started practicing and had a great time with it," said Senior Dog Squad member Doris Rahn.

San Joaquin Gardens Exec. Director Jessica Lopez added, "The Senior Dog Squad started 2 years ago and it was the melding of two local icons coming together, Fresno State and San Joaquin Gardens being the oldest retirement community in the Fresno area."

An idea was born and practice began.

"They wanted us to come up with choreography to be able to perform at football and basketball games, so of course we just hopped on the opportunity," said Emmeline Jennings, Fresno State Spirit Program Director.

"It's just fun, it's fun. I love it and we get out there and you go out and it's only a few seconds and it's finished," Rahn laughed.

The performance may have ended after the song, but the impact is ever-lasting.

"They rock it, that's the reality. They are out there moving and shaking and rocking it with the best of them. I don't think we realized what we were capable of what we could do in our 80's and 90's so they didn't slow down for us, they made it quite challenging and we rose to the occasion," said Lopez.
