Merced County residents now have a new way to save money on their prescriptions.

MERCED COUNTY (KFSN) -- Merced County residents now have a new way to save money on their prescriptions.

Officials held a news conference Tuesday to share details about the Coast 2 Coast discount prescription card program. It offers savings of up to 75-percent on brand name and generic prescriptions. The card also includes discounts on some dental, vision, and even veterinary services. Everyone qualifies for the program and the cards are free.

"We've seen people cry because they can save so much on their drugs, and so people can't believe they can get a $100 drugs for $10, $20, $30 when they don't have health insurance. So it really makes a difference," said Martin Dettelbach, Coast2Coast RX Card.

The program also pays a royalty of $1.25 per prescription to Merced County.

You can get the cards at most pharmacies-- or online at coast2coastrx.com.
