FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An argument ended with a woman being thrown from a speeding SUV. It happened on Monday in Fresno near Shaw and Jennifer Avenue in broad daylight. One witness recorded the crash with his cell phone.

The video shows an SUV speeding out of a parking lot and a woman hanging on to the front door. She can't see the car coming up behind her and she loses her grip after the SUV quickly turns and knocks her off.

The bushes may have broken her fall and witnesses say the woman popped back up to chase the SUV down the street.

Denise Carrillo who runs a fruit stand outside the Valero Gas Station where it all started says there was an argument between two women. One walked away but the other seemed to provoke her by messing with the tire and the crash happened seconds later.

Carrillo said, "I think it's crazy! Oh my gosh."

She says the SUV could have hit her stand or her if she had been there on Monday like she normally is, but she chose to take the day off because it was too windy outside.

"That would have been scary," Carrillo added, "I don't know what I would have done actually, I really don't know."

Fresno Police showed up but the SUV and the two women were already gone. Lt. Joe Gomez says people called for help but without a victim, officers didn't file a report.

"Whoever was the victim in that, there's some reason why they didn't come forward," Lt. Gomez said.

He says it's tough to say who's at fault but there had to be something leading up to the argument that cell phone video didn't capture.

Officers would like to talk to the two women involved but they say it's not likely to happen.
