Large tree topples over in Downtown Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A large tree came crashing down at Courthouse Park in Downtown Fresno Sunday.

The fallen tree damaged some light posts and a bench, but no one was sitting there at the time.

It also narrowly missed a statue.

A witness says he heard a cracking noise around 1:30 p.m. and then saw the tree start to lean before it fell down.

There's no word yet on the cause.
